On November 4, during the second day of the international forum were held a number of discussions regarding the posed questions that arose during the world event. The organized discussions were attended by Mr. Eric Falt – Assistant Director-General of UNESCO.

Later, following the provided programme of the global event were held presentations by leading international NGOs regarding projects carried out by them on the topic of promoting and building global peace. While presenting Sozopol Foundation Ms. Nevena Arnautska acquainted the attendees with the active work of the Foundation for the safeguarding and maintenance of global peace.

Through specially prepared presentation Ms. Arnautska briefly presented the successfully completed by Sozopol Foundation projec: „Protection and promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe – celebrating the 1150th anniversary of the Great Moravian mission of Cyril and Methodius”.

The project was funded by the UNESCO Participation Programme 2012-2013 and co-funded by Sozopol Foundation. The project implementation is of great international importance since it puts emphasis on and acquaints the general public with the activities carried out by the Saints Cyril and Methodius. Due to their holy work the Slavic apostles Cyril and Methodius became one of the significant factors for huge cultural turning point in support of peaceful coexistence among the peoples of Europe. Strengthening the democratic right of every nation to have its own language and its own alphabet, the Holy Brothers made another step in the process of building and strengthening of world peace.
After the presentations of NGOs from all around the world, Ms. Nevena Arnautska had the opportunity to hold constructive conversations with a number of colleagues, representatives of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee. Ms. Arnautska met Ms. Martine Levy, Chairman of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, as they discussed possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the NGO sector for the promotion of peace and sustainable development.

As a member of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, a priority for Sozopol Foundation is to work very actively with NGOs in Southeast and Eastern Europe for the promotion and establishment of peace.
