Christmas edition of National campaign for support of children of employees of the Ministry of Interior, killed and injured in the performance of their duties


On 12 December 2013, in hall 3.3 “The miracles of Bulgaria” of the National Palace of Culture was held the official opening of the 10th Christmas edition of the National campaign for support of children of employees of the Ministry of Interior, killed and injured in the performance of their duties. The event was opened by Mr. Tsvetelin Yovchev, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria, who turned to the children with the words “Your parents are heroes. We have to remember them!” Mr. Yovchev also expressed his delight that the initiative has become a tradition.

Ms. Slava Bozukova, Chief Editor of the Standart newspaper, turned to the children saying that “The greatest miracle is the Bulgarian spirit and especially the children of Bulgaria” and expressed her gratitude to Mr. Kiril Arnautski, Chairman of Sozopol Foundation, for providing the hall for the event.

Within the national campaign were provided many gifts for 143 children of officers of the Ministry of Interior, killed and injured in the performance of their duties.

The campaign also got involved children from Primary School “St. Ivan Rilski” in the town of Pernik, who demonstrated their knowledge on Bulgarian history and their skills in creating models of symbolic Bulgarian tangible cultural values, some of which they gave their coevals later.
