Public discussion of Partnership Agreement for the period 2014-2020


On 26 February 2014, in Hall 6 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia was held an open session of working group to the Council of Ministers for discussion of Partnership Agreement between the Republic of Bulgaria and the European Union for the period 2014-2020. The session was attended by representatives of state institutions and the nongovernmental sector. As members of the working group, Prof. D.Sc. Violeta Nesheva, Chief Scientific Advisor to Sozopol Foundation and Mr. Lyubomir Durankev, International Projects Expert to the Foundation, took participation in the discussion.

The forum was opened with introductory words by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Ms. Zinaida Zlatanova, and the Agreement was presented in detail by representatives of the state administration. The document covers the determination of development priorities for the next programming period and different programs to achieve these objectives.

During the debate on the determined development priorities for the next programming period, the representatives of Sozopol Foundation shared their opinion, as participants from the NGO sector in Bulgaria.

Prof. D.Sc. Violeta Nesheva referred to the subject of cultural heritage, stressing the importance of its preservation and promotion for achieving the great potential of Bulgaria as a cultural tourism destination.

Mr. Lyubomir Durankev expressed the support of Sozopol Foundation to the initiatives of the working group for the Agreement and wished successful finalization of the document, so that the foreseen programs can provide real conditions for the implementation of the determined priorities.
