On 18 December 2013, in hall “The miracles of Bulgaria” of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, was held the closing conference with regards to the finalization of the project of Sozopol Foundation “Protection and promotion of the cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe – celebrating the 1150th anniversary of the Great Moravian mission of Cyril and Methodius”. The project, funded under the UNESCO Participation Programme 2012-2013, aims at increasing the involvement of the civil society – especially children and youths, to the Bulgarian linguistic and cultural heritage.
During the conference the Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Kiril Arnautski, informed the participants of the implemented activities, among which shows up a training seminar for students on the mission of the Saints Cyril and Methodius, Apostles of the Slavs and Patrons of Europe, and their contribution to the Christianization of the Slavonic peoples and the cultural emancipation of Slavs nations. Mr. Kiril Arnautski and Prof. D.Sc. Violeta Nesheva, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Foundation, presented certificates to students for the successful completion of the training seminar.
The conference participants had the pleasure to enjoy magnificent performances of the special guests – the singers of the unique Chamber Ensemble ”John Koukouzeles – the Angel-Voiced”.
Guests of the event were representatives of Spiritual Mirror Society, led by Ms. Tatyana Kostadinova, with which Sozopol Foundation successfully implements two projects in the field of intangible cultural heritage – “Let be light” and “The symbols of the Bulgarian carpet weaving – symbols of faith, beauty and harmony”.
