The international project STRING (Smart Tourist Routes for Inclusive Groups), involving 12 partners from 7 countries, is on the verge of its final.
The project is continuation of the multiannual cooperation of the League of Historical and Accessible Cities (LHAC), in which participates the town of Sozopol as the sixth adopted by the League accessible European city. The primary objective of Project STRING is to better exploit the work that has ben done in establishing accessible tourist routes and, in the meantime, to disseminate at a wider level the best practices and know-how and in accessible tourism obtained by the LHAC experiences.
The project duration is 18 months. From Bulgarian side participants are Sozopol Foundation, a NGO with extensive experience in restoration, conservation and promotion of cultural values and Sozopol Tour Ltd., a Tour operator performing tourist activities within the Republic of Bulgaria. Project STRING intends to design 9 routes, three of which in the town of Sozopol. These routes will provide versatile, attractive and high-quality tourist products to customers with special needs and also all other tourists, visiting the city and the Archaeological Reserve “Ancient town of Apollonia”.
