On May 24, the Chairman of Sozopol Foundation, Mr. Kiril Arnautski, attended the celebration of the Day of Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture, and Slavonic Literature, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev. The celebration was held in the National Museum of History in Sofia.
The national anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria and the anthem of the Slavonic alphabet were performed as an opening of the event. The celebration continued with the speech by the President, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev. The Head of the State stressed the importance of the celebration for our country. In addition, he stressed that this is a day on which we should be proud that we are Bulgarians.
After the official part, Mr. Arnautski spoke with and briefed Mr. Plevneliev with the active international work of Sozopol Foundation. The Chairman of the Foundation briefly presented the current and future initiatives of the international non-governmental organization.
During the reception Mr. Arnautski held informal conversations with other guests. Among them were Mr. Petar Stoyanov, President of the Republic of Bulgaria in the period 1997 – 2002. Mr. Arnautski acquainted Mr. Stoyanov with the activity of Sozopol Foundation, both at national and international level.
The meeting and conversation between Kiril Arnautski and His Excellency Mr. Yuri Isakov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Bulgaria, was exclusively fruitful. Mr. Arnautski acquainted the Ambassador with active international work of Sozopol Foundation and its good contacts with similar organizations from Moscow and St. Petersburg.
