Visit by representatives of international non-governmental organisations, partners of Sozopol Foundation, in the town of Sozopol


On July 26, 2016 representatives of international organisations visited the town of Sozopol and the created by Sozopol Foundation Architectural and Historic Complex Southern Fortress Wall and Tower. Organisations that were represented were the human rights organsation “Nashe pravo”, the youth organization of the Federation “Sayuz na saotechestvenitsi” and “International Youth Alliance”. Their visit was organized within the framework of their joint cooperation project “Experience without Borders” dealing with the problems and prospects of youth employment and unemployment. The basic strategy and objective is the promotion and development of constructive partnership between NGOs and state institutions in the affected area. The visit in the town of Sozopol aimed to build new partnerships in the Black Sea Region.

Once acquainted with the activities, carried out under projects within the territory of Archaeological Reserve “Ancient city of Apollonia”, in which Sozopol Foundation participates – an international non-governmental organisation with extensive global experience, the visitors held informal conversation with the Chairman of Sozopol Foundation – Mr. Kiril Arnautski. Mr. Arthur Kairov, Ms. Louisa Karginova, Mr. Murat Tokov, Ms. Alena Vasileva, representatives of the organisation “Mashe Pravo”, Ms. Alevtina Plocheva representative of the youth organization of the Federation “Sayuz na saotechestvenitsi” together with Mr. Anton Martinov, Ms. Pavlina Ivanova and Ms. Nadezhda Kehayova of “International Youth Alliance”, discussed with Mr. Arnautski opportunities and prospects for the realization of future joint projects and initiatives.

The participants in the conversation expressed their willingness to work actively for cooperation and friendship among peoples, peace and accord, safeguarding the natural and cultural heritage, as well to preserve the natural and cultural identity. One of the discussed options was the project that is currently under development by experts of Sozopol Foundation named “Argonauts cultural journey – establishment of a common cultural environment in the Black Sea Basin region”. The legendary ancient Greek motif was selected by Sozopol Foundation as a symbol of the idea of establishing a common cultural environment in the Black Sea Basin. The creation of a virtual network for general information and exchange of good practices in the field of cultural tourism is envisaged.
