On 6 July 2018, the National Commission of Bulgaria for UNESCO was officially informed that the General Assembly of the Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage to UNESCO has adopted a Decision on the accreditation of the Sozopol Foundation. This means that the Sozopol Foundation, which is in a consultative partnership with the World Organization, is already a consultant to the Executive Body of the General Assembly – the Intergovernmental Committee for the Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This is a worthy recognition for the non-governmental sector in Bulgaria at world level. Very few non-governmental organizations have achieved such international successes both in the field of preservation and promotion of material and intangible cultural heritage. The Sozopol Foundation is one of these organizations, with its activity and activity being the leading one in the world.
