An international Forum in Sofia and Sozopol has been prepared for the period from September 27 to October 1 on “The role of Youth for the safeguarding of tangible and intangible cultural heritage” and will be held under the auspices of UNESCO. The Forum is organized by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee and Sozopol Foundation from Bulgarian side. It will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Sozopol.
Mr. Diego Gradis, coordinator of the Forum on behalf of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, visited Bulgaria in the period from 13 to 15 May in relation to the organization for conducting the event. He visited the National Palace of Culture where the Forum will be opened.
Mr. Diego Gradis, Mr. Kiril Arnautski, Chairman of Sozopol Foundation, and Prof. Dr. Tuleshkov discussed in detail the activities implemented jointly for the organization of the Forum. The good coordination between the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee and Sozopol Foundation was noted.
After the meeting Mr. Diego Gradis visited Sozopol. He was welcomed by the Mayor of Sozopol Mr. Panayot Reyzi and vice. Mayor Mrs. Petya Chapevova.
During both meetings, the guest was acquainted with the safeguarding and promotion of the rich cultural heritage and the tourism development in the municipality of Sozopol. Mr. Diego Gradis expressed his satisfaction that a forum of world significance, under the auspices of UNESCO, will be held in Sozopol and will strengthen the position of the town as a global tourist destination. And he expressed his gratitude to Sozopol Foundation, an organizer of the forum from the Bulgarian side.
