On August 1, 2014 in Sheraton Hotel Sofia Balkan the Programme for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries for the period 2014-2020 was launched.
The presentation of the Programme was opened by Prof. Dr. Valentina Marinova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food.
The Guidance of the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture, which organized the event, presented the priority areas during the specified period related to the promotion of sustainable and ecological attitude, innovative, competitive and knowledge based fisheries and aquaculture; to promote an integrated maritime policy; to markets and processing; to increasing employment and territorial cohesion. Participants were acquainted with the types of measures set out in the National Programme for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and funding opportunities in the new programme period.
Representatives of Sozopol Foundation and of other NGOs participated in the ensuing public debate.
