Representatives of Sozopol Foundation participated in the Regional Seminar under the auspices of UNESCO


Chairman of Sozopol Foundation Mr. Kiril Arnautski and the expert on international relations Violeta Tsankova participated in the Regional Seminar on topic “Protecting World Heritage: Disaster Risk Management and Sustainable Tourism Planning” in Southeast Europe, which was held from 3 to 6 November 2014 in National Palace of Culture, Sofia.

During the seminar, Kiril Arnautski and Violeta Tsankova met with Ms. Veronique Dauge, Head of the Unit for Culture at the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, based in Venice (Italy) and Mr. Sinisa Sesum Head of Department at the European Regional Bureau of UNESCO Headquarters in Sarajevo.

They discussed the organization of national and international events related to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and emphasized the role of Sozopol Foundation as a coordination centre for NGOs in Eastern Europe.

It was decided that the Regional Bureau in Venice will place at Sozopol Foundation’s disposal an exhibition on cultural heritage and will assist in the organization of an international conference on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of UNESCO in Veliko Tarnovo in 2015.
