Project Zero – selection of innovative practices that improve the lives of people with disabilities


The Bulgarian NGO Sozopol Foundation is among the invited expert organisations that will participate in the process of selection of Innovative Programme of Project Zero 2017.

As a joint initiative by a number of organizations worldwide, Project Zero is designed to focus on the rights of people with disabilities internationally. The project provides a platform where are shared the most innovative and effective solutions to the problems encountered by people with specific abilities. The leading goal of the project initiative is to contribute to building a world without barriers. Activities that are under implementation under the project are extremely diverse, as currently Project Zero selects Innovative Practices for 2017 on employment, work, vocational education and training, which have proven effectiveness that improve the lives of people with disabilities around the world.

Among the nominees are project initiatives from countries such as India, Ethiopia, Armenia and many others.

The final step in the process of selection of Innovative practices of Project Zero 2017 is expressed in consultation with experts and practitioners from around the world in the field of providing accessible environment for people with disabilities. Sozopol Foundation, as an international non-governmental organization working for the conservation of natural and cultural heritage and ensuring accessible environment for people with disabilities, has established and maintains constructive partnerships with the organizations involved in the work on Project Zero. Due to the knowledge and experience gained over the years of its existence, the experts of the international NGO from Bulgaria will actively participate in defining the 6 innovative practices that improve the lives of people with disabilities for 2017.
