A team of experts of Sozopol Foundation participates in the development of projects Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance under Cross Border Cooperation Programme Bulgaria-Turkey 2014-2020. The objective of the programme is to improve cross-border cooperation between the two countries. One of the projects developed by Sozopol Foundation, envisages conservation, restoration, adaptation and socialization of a section of the fortification system of Archaeological Reserve “Ancient town of Apollonia” – at the entrance to the Reserve.
This project corresponds to and is inextricably linked with all so far carried out projects within the Municipality of Sozopol concerning the protection of natural and cultural heritage and ensuring an accessible environment. A future realization of the project will allow to strengthen and illustrate the policy direction in the development of sustainable tourism by local authorities working together and have established good partnerships with NGO sector in the region.
